2. Information you voluntarily provide by email

  • If you request a health insurance quotation, we may ask you to download, complete, and return a health questionnaire by email. This questionnaire may contain personal health information that is required by our licensed insurance distributor and/or the insurance company to assess eligibility, prepare a quotation, or process an insurance application.
  • This information is collected solely for these purposes and will be securely shared only with our licensed insurance distributor and, where necessary, the relevant insurance company. GuiriGuru does not use this information for marketing purposes.

4. Marketing preferences

  • Where you choose to receive updates, we may collect your communication and marketing preferences.

3. PURPOSE OF PROCESSING

We use your personal data to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and requests.
  • Arrange relocation consultations where requested.
  • Respond to enquiries about health insurance and, where appropriate, introduce you to our licensed insurance distributor partner.
  • Arrange introductory calls with our insurance distributor partner when requested.

4. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

We process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Consent (for example, marketing emails, analytics cookies, advertising cookies, and other optional cookies).
  • Contractual necessity or steps taken prior to entering into a contract (for example, responding to service requests or arranging insurance quotations).
  • Legal obligation (such as tax and accounting requirements).
  • Legitimate interests (such as maintaining website security, preventing fraud, responding to enquiries, and operating our business where those interests do not override your rights).

5. DATA SHARING

GuiriGuru does not sell your personal information. Under certain U.S. state privacy laws, the use of advertising or analytics technologies may be considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We may share your information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate our website and business (such as website hosting, CRM, email marketing and analytics providers).
  • Analytics, advertising, and marketing service providers (such as Google and Meta) where you have provided the necessary consent.
  • Our licensed insurance distributors where you request information about health insurance or ask to obtain an insurance quotation. The agent is responsible for providing insurance advice, arranging insurance policies and processing any additional information required to complete an application.
  • Professional advisers and public authorities where required by law.

GuiriGuru acts as an external collaborator of licensed insurance distributors in Spain. GuiriGuru is not an insurance company and does not independently underwrite, issue, or mediate insurance policies. All insurance mediation, advice, policy issuance, and contractual insurance documentation are handled by authorized insurance distributors and/or insurance entities operating in Spain.

6. HEALTH INSURANCE ENQUIRIES

If you submit a request for information about health insurance, GuiriGuru will use your details to respond to your enquiry, arrange a consultation where appropriate, and, at your request, introduce you to our licensed insurance distributor partner.

Where required to obtain an insurance quotation or application, we may ask you to complete a downloadable health questionnaire and return it to us by email. This questionnaire may contain personal health information required by the licensed insurance distributor and/or the insurance company to assess your eligibility for cover. GuiriGuru will securely forward this information only to our licensed insurance distributor and, where necessary, the relevant insurance company for the sole purpose of preparing a quotation, assessing an application, or arranging an insurance policy.

At a client’s request, we may prepare courtesy English translations of insurance documents. We may use trusted AI-assisted translation tools to assist in this process. These translations are reviewed where appropriate, are provided for informational purposes only, and do not replace the official Spanish documents issued by the insurer.

GuiriGuru does not provide insurance advice or underwriting services and does not use your health information for marketing purposes. The licensed insurance distributor is responsible for assessing your insurance requirements, providing insurance advice, arranging quotations, processing medical information, and issuing insurance policies.

7. DATA RETENTION

Enquiry and contact information:

  • retained for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and provide the requested services, and for a reasonable period thereafter unless you request its deletion or a longer retention period is required by law.

Health questionnaire and other health information:

Where the information has been forwarded to our licensed insurance distributor or the insurer, they will retain and process it in accordance with their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

  • retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.

Legal and financial records (e.g. invoices):

  • retained for 6 to 10 years, in accordance with applicable Spanish commercial and tax legislation.
