Translation, sworn translation and interpreting services
If you request translation, sworn translation or interpreting services, we may collect documents and information that you voluntarily provide so that we can perform or coordinate the requested service.

Translation documents
Documents submitted for translation may be made available to the translator, sworn translator or interpreter assigned to your project. Only information reasonably necessary to perform the requested service is shared. Translation professionals are expected to treat customer documents and personal information confidentially and use them only for purposes related to providing the requested service.
GuiriGuru may use third-party cloud-storage and file-transfer services, such as Dropbox, to securely receive, store and transfer documents in connection with translation and related services.
Access to customer documents is restricted to GuiriGuru, professionals assigned to the relevant service and service providers requiring technical access to provide their services.
6. Health Insurance Services
GuiriGuru acts as an external collaborator of licensed insurance distributors in Spain.
GuiriGuru is not an insurance company and does not independently underwrite or issue insurance policies. Insurance mediation, advice, policy issuance and contractual insurance documentation are handled by authorised insurance distributors and/or insurance entities operating in Spain.
If you request a health insurance quotation, we may ask you to complete a health questionnaire containing information required by the licensed insurance distributor and/or insurance company to assess eligibility. GuiriGuru may securely forward this information to the licensed insurance distributor and, where necessary, the relevant insurance company for the purpose of preparing a quotation, assessing an application or arranging insurance coverage.
GuiriGuru does not use your health information for advertising or marketing purposes.
At a customer’s request, we may also prepare courtesy English translations of insurance documents. Trusted AI-assisted translation tools may be used to assist in this process. Courtesy translations are provided for informational purposes and do not replace the official Spanish documentation issued by the insurer.
7. Translation and Interpreting Services
When you request translation, sworn translation or interpreting services, GuiriGuru may collect, receive, store and transmit documents and personal information necessary to perform or coordinate the requested service.
You may submit documents by email to translations@guiriguru.com or GuiriGuru may provide a secure upload link through a third-party cloud-storage or file-transfer service, such as Dropbox.
Documents may be provided to the translator, sworn translator or interpreter assigned to your project. Access is limited to people who reasonably require access in order to provide or administer the requested service.
Information contained in translation documents is used only for providing or administering the requested service and related legal, accounting or customer-service purposes. It is not used for advertising or marketing.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and as required by applicable law.
General enquiries
Contact and enquiry information is retained for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and provide requested services, and for a reasonable period thereafter, unless you request deletion or a longer retention period is required by law.
Health information
Health questionnaires and other health information are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to obtain a quotation, process an insurance application or comply with applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
Once information has been provided to a licensed insurance distributor or insurer, those parties process and retain the information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
Translation documents
Source documents, working translation files and completed translations held in our active email, document-transfer or cloud-storage systems are normally deleted within 60 days after completion and delivery of the translation service, unless:
- You ask us to retain them for longer;
- They are required to resolve a question, correction, dispute or claim;
- A longer retention period is required by law; or
- Particular records must be retained for legitimate accounting or business-record purposes.
Deletion from our active systems does not necessarily result in immediate deletion from encrypted backups maintained by third-party technology providers. Backup copies may remain temporarily in accordance with the provider’s normal backup and deletion procedures.
We encourage customers to download and securely retain their completed translations. GuiriGuru should not be relied upon as permanent storage for customer documents.
Marketing information
Marketing information is retained until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent or it is otherwise no longer reasonably necessary.
Accounting and legal records
Invoices and records required for tax, accounting or legal purposes are retained for the periods required under applicable Spanish law.
Cookies
Cookies and similar technologies are retained for the periods described in our Cookie Policy. You may change or withdraw your cookie preferences through the cookie controls available on our website.

Some service providers used by GuiriGuru may process or store personal information outside Spain or the European Economic Area (EEA). Where personal information is transferred outside the EEA, appropriate safeguards are used where required under applicable data protection law.
Depending on the provider and destination, these safeguards may include European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, an adequacy decision or participation in an approved framework such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Cloud-storage, email and other technology providers used by GuiriGuru may therefore process information outside Spain or the EEA subject to applicable safeguards.
12. Children’s Information
Our website and services are not specifically directed at children under 16.
However, documents submitted by adult customers for legitimate relocation, immigration, insurance or translation purposes may contain personal information relating to their minor children or dependants. Where this occurs, we process that information only to the extent necessary to provide the service requested by the parent, guardian or other person authorised to provide the information.
We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 16 for marketing purposes.
