4. General Information and Professional Advice
GuiriGuru provides general information and practical assistance based on our experience helping people relocate to and live in Spain.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, information provided by GuiriGuru does not constitute legal, immigration, tax, accounting, financial, medical or regulated insurance advice. Where professional advice is required, GuiriGuru may introduce the Client to or coordinate services with an appropriately qualified professional.
Immigration rules, consular requirements, insurance requirements and administrative procedures may change and may vary according to the Client’s circumstances and the authority involved.
GuiriGuru cannot guarantee the approval of any visa, residence application, insurance application or other administrative procedure. Decisions are made by the relevant government authority, consulate, insurer or other responsible organisation.
5. Insurance Services
GuiriGuru is not an insurance company and does not independently underwrite or issue insurance policies.
GuiriGuru acts as an external collaborator with licensed insurance distributors in Spain. We may provide general information, collect information required to obtain quotations, coordinate communications and introduce Clients to the appropriate licensed insurance professional.
Insurance advice, policy recommendations, underwriting decisions, policy issuance and other regulated insurance activities are provided by the relevant licensed insurance distributor and/or insurance company.
Insurance premiums, eligibility, acceptance, exclusions, coverage and policy conditions are determined by the insurance company and/or authorised insurance distributor. Any insurance quotation or price provided before acceptance is subject to the conditions and validity period stated by the insurer or authorised insurance distributor. The Client should review the official policy documentation supplied by the insurer or insurance distributor before purchasing insurance.
6. Insurance Payments and Refunds
GuiriGuru does not collect insurance premiums or issue insurance policies. Insurance premiums are paid directly to the relevant insurance company or authorised insurance distributor.
Once an insurance policy has been purchased, it is governed by the insurer’s terms and conditions. Any cancellation or refund request relating to an insurance policy must be handled by the relevant insurance company or authorised insurance distributor. GuiriGuru may assist the Client in communicating with the relevant insurance professional where appropriate but does not approve, process or issue insurance-premium refunds.
7. Health Information
Where necessary to obtain an insurance quotation or process an insurance application, GuiriGuru may ask the Client to complete a health questionnaire. Information provided in a health questionnaire may be shared with the licensed insurance distributor and/or insurance company responsible for assessing the application. The Client is responsible for providing complete and accurate information when applying for insurance.
Personal and health information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Courtesy Insurance Document Translations
At a Client’s request, GuiriGuru may provide courtesy English translations of insurance quotations, policy documents or related documentation originally issued in Spanish. These translations are provided solely to help the Client understand the documentation and are not official or sworn translations.
Trusted AI-assisted translation tools may be used where appropriate. In the event of any discrepancy, the official documentation issued by the insurer or licensed insurance distributor prevails.
9. Translation, Sworn Translation and Interpreting Services
GuiriGuru provides and coordinates translation, sworn translation and interpreting services. The scope, price and expected delivery time of a translation project will normally be communicated to the Client before work begins.
Where an official Spanish sworn translation is requested, the translation will be performed and certified by a sworn translator authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (MAEC), where applicable.
GuiriGuru may engage qualified translators, sworn translators and interpreters to assist GuiriGuru in providing services purchased directly from GuiriGuru. Unless expressly stated otherwise, ordinary translations are not sworn or certified translations and should not be assumed to satisfy requirements for an official sworn translation.
10. Documents Provided for Translation
The Client is responsible for providing complete, accurate and reasonably legible source documents.
Documents may be submitted by email to translations@guiriguru.com or through a secure document-upload or cloud-storage service made available by GuiriGuru. GuiriGuru or the translator may request a clearer or more complete copy where a document cannot reasonably be translated from the material supplied.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that they are authorised to provide the documents submitted to GuiriGuru and to request their translation. Customer documents and personal information are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Translation Prices and Payment
GuiriGuru will provide the Client with a quotation before translation work begins. Prices are stated in euros unless otherwise indicated. Any applicable IVA or other taxes will be identified in the quotation or invoice.
Translation work does not begin until the quotation has been accepted and full payment has been received, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Once payment has been received, GuiriGuru will begin the translation service and arrange for the translation to be completed.
Additional documents or work requested after the original quotation may require an additional quotation and payment.
12. Sworn Translations
Where GuiriGuru has been engaged to provide an official Spanish sworn translation, the completed translation will be certified by the MAEC-authorised sworn translator responsible for the translation.
Requirements concerning sworn translations, apostilles, legalisation, original documents, electronic signatures and acceptance of documents may vary depending on the consulate, immigration authority, court, notary, government agency or other institution receiving the document. Unless GuiriGuru has expressly agreed to verify a particular requirement as part of the service, the Client remains responsible for confirming the requirements of the authority to which the translated document will be submitted.
GuiriGuru does not guarantee acceptance by a government authority, consulate or other institution where rejection results from requirements outside the agreed translation service.
13. Translation Delivery
Translations may be delivered electronically or, where agreed, in physical form. Estimated completion or delivery dates are provided in good faith and may depend on document complexity, translator availability, Client responses and other circumstances.
Where physical delivery or courier service is requested, applicable shipping or courier charges will be communicated to the Client. GuiriGuru is not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services outside our reasonable control.
14. Translation Cancellations, Refunds and Corrections
Translation and sworn translation services are prepared specifically for each Client based on the documents submitted.
Once a translation or sworn translation has been completed, the service is non-refundable. If a completed translation contains an error attributable to the translation, GuiriGuru will arrange for the error to be corrected without additional charge. This does not include changes resulting from incomplete, inaccurate or illegible source documents or source documents that are changed after translation work has begun.
Nothing in these Terms affects any rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
15. Third-Party Professionals
GuiriGuru may introduce Clients to independent third-party professionals or businesses, including licensed insurance distributors, immigration professionals, lawyers, accountants, healthcare providers, real estate professionals and other service providers. Where a Client enters into a contract directly with an independent third-party professional, that professional is responsible for the advice, services and contractual obligations they provide. GuiriGuru is not a party to that contract unless expressly stated otherwise.
GuiriGuru may also engage qualified professionals, including sworn translators, translators and interpreters, to assist GuiriGuru in providing services purchased directly from GuiriGuru. In those circumstances, the Client’s service is provided through GuiriGuru and is subject to these Terms and any additional terms agreed for that service.
16. Affiliate and Referral Relationships
GuiriGuru may receive referral fees, commissions or other compensation when customers purchase certain products or services through introductions, referrals or affiliate links. Where appropriate, such commercial relationships will be disclosed.
Receiving compensation does not change the Client’s contractual relationship with an independent third-party provider.
17. Prices and Taxes
Prices displayed on GuiriGuru.com or provided in quotations are stated in euros unless otherwise indicated. Applicable taxes, including Spanish IVA where applicable, will be identified in the relevant price, quotation or invoice. Tax treatment may vary depending on the service provided, the Client’s location and applicable tax rules.
Third-party charges, government fees, consular fees, apostille fees, courier charges and other external expenses are not included unless expressly stated.
18. Personal Data and Customer Documents
Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation.
Translation documents may be submitted by email or through secure document-transfer or cloud-storage services and may be shared with the translator or interpreter assigned to the project.
Further information about how we collect, use, share, store and retain personal information and customer documents is available in our Privacy Policy.
19. Intellectual Property
Content appearing on GuiriGuru.com, including original text, photographs, graphics, branding, downloadable materials and website design, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Users may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit GuiriGuru content without permission except where permitted by applicable law.
The Client retains ownership of source documents and materials they provide to GuiriGuru.
20. Limitation of Liability
GuiriGuru will provide its services with reasonable care and skill.
GuiriGuru cannot be held responsible for decisions made by government authorities, consulates, immigration authorities, insurers or other independent organisations.
GuiriGuru is not responsible for delays, rejection or other outcomes resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the Client, changes in government or third-party requirements, or events outside our reasonable control.
Where the Client contracts directly with an independent third-party professional, that professional is responsible for the professional service they provide.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
21. External Websites and Services
GuiriGuru.com may contain links to third-party websites and services.
GuiriGuru does not control these websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices or terms. Clients should review the applicable terms and privacy policies of third-party services they choose to use.
22. Changes to These Terms
GuiriGuru may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our services, business practices or applicable law. The version applicable to a purchased service will normally be the version in effect when the service was purchased, unless otherwise required by law or agreed with the Client.
The date of the most recent revision appears at the top of this page.
23. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and GuiriGuru’s services are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute shall be subject to the competent courts of Valencia, Spain, except where applicable consumer protection legislation or other mandatory law provides otherwise.
